Our roots as a business stretch back to 2016. Founders Ed and Adam were both working on their own separate companies when they met in a shared office in Clapham Common, forming r2 shortly after. r2 was a FinTech specialist agency- focused on contingency hiring for Tech scale ups.

At r2 we put relationships first at all times, and we are very proud of the fact that the business grew almost solely off the back of referrals, and it has always been our mantra and now of course at Scout...if you do a good job, you’re honest and put others' interest's first, then people will always recommend your services. Still to this day, in the 6 years we're worked together, we have NEVER done a cold call!

r2 made over 500 hires, helping to scale up FinTechs across the globe, such as Funding Circle, Tide, ComplyAdvantage and Starling Bank. Our biggest achievements were at Funding Circle and ComplyAdvantage. We recruited over 200 people at Funding Circle over 4 years, and helped them to launch new offices in Berlin and Amsterdam.

Our first taste of the "embedded" model was at ComplyAdvantage where we sat "onsite" for 9 months recruiting global roles across sales, customer success, marketing and operations. In that time, we made 34 placements which was around 35% of the total hires they made that year across the business. We also helped them to launch their sales team in the US.

Everything was going swimmingly, until... March 2020😷🦠...
