Does this apply to me?

Yes, if you are Scout's employee and have spent six consecutive months on our payroll by the expected due date or adoption date of your child.

Awesome, what am I entitled to?

Before your child's birth, you are entitled to Antenatal leave. If you are pregnant, you can take paid time off for antenatal care. This can be medical appointments but also parenting or relaxation classes recommended by your doctor, midwife or health visitor. You may also take time off to accompany your partner if she's pregnant or to attend any appointments if you are adopting. Please make sure to keep your manager and client informed well in advance.

If you are the birth parent, during the first 8 weeks after your child's birth, you're entitled to fully-paid parental leave at your usual salary. Thereafter, you are entitled to 4 weeks at 50% of your usual salary. This includes adoption and surrogacy.

We generally expect that you'll take no less than 12 full weeks off as parental leave. Under UK law, you're entitled to take longer at a statutory rate of pay (see below).

If you are the partner of the birth parent, you are entitled to 4 weeks of fully paid leave.

You still accrue vacation days while on parental leave, and all your other usual benefits, and (if applicable) you'll be paid the appropriate amount of commission that's owed to you prior to taking leave.
